PHILIPPINE ELECTRONICS EXPORT PERFORMANCE JANUARY 2025

Electronics exports increased by 18.19% in January 2025 to US$ 3.68 billion, which is 57.76% of the US$ 6.36 billion total Philippine exports.
 

 A.  PH Electronics Exports: (Month-on-Month)

Electronics exports rose by 18.19% from US$ 3.11 billion in December 2024 to US$ 3.68 billion in January 2025, as shown in Fig. 1.

 

Exports in seven (7) sectors went up as shown in Table 2. This was led by Office Equipment at 36.22%, from US$ 24.01 million to US$ 32.70 million, followed by Semiconductor Components/Devices (30.44%), Communication/Radar (23.31%), Telecommunication (17.92%), Electronic Data Processing (15.85%), Automotive Electronics (7.44%), and Control and Instrumentation (3.76%).

 

Meanwhile, Consumer Electronics decreased the most by 55.73%, from US$ 210.65 million to US$ 93.24 million. It was followed by Medical/Industrial Instrumentation (19.63%).

B. PH Electronics Exports: (Year-on-Year)

The Philippine Electronics exports declined by 2.24%, from US$ 3.76 billion in January 2024 to US$ 3.68 billion in January 2025, as shown in Fig. 2. 

 

Communication/Radar contracted by 15.00%, from US$ 58.83 million to US$ 45.75 million. It was followed by Semiconductor Components/Devices (6.76%), and Telecommunication (3.25%).

 

Exports in six (6) sectors improved, led by Medical/Industrial Instrumentation at 49.05%, from US$ 30.97 million to US$ 46.15 million. This was followed by Automotive Electronics (36.64%), Consumer Electronics (27.84%), Office Equipment (26.25%), Control and Instrumentation (22.21%), and Electronic Data Processing (10.72%). COUNTRIES OF DESTINATION (JANUARY 2025)

Table 1 shows the top five (5) export destinations in January 2025, namely, , the USA (17.59%), Hong Kong (15.94%), China (8.06%), Japan (7.10%), and Singapore (6.12%).

The other destinations in the top ten were Germany (5.44%), Taiwan (4.37%), Thailand (4.37%), the Netherlands (4.06%), and Malaysia (3.55%).

The top exported electronics products in January 2025 are in Fig. 3. Multi-component Integrated Circuits (MCO) bound for Hong Kong grew by 165.20%. Meanwhile, Electronic Integrated Circuits – processors and controllers bound for Singapore declined by 53.69%. See Table 3.
