PHILIPPINE ELECTRONICS EXPORT PERFORMANCE APRIL 2025

 
Electronics exports declined by 7.12% in April 2025 to US$ 3.68 billion, which is 54.58% of the US$ 6.75 billion total Philippine exports.
 

 A.  PH Electronics Exports: (Month-on-Month)

Electronics exports went down by 7.12% from US$ 3.96 billion in March 2025 to US$ 3.68 billion in April 2025, as shown in Fig. 1.

 

Exports in seven (7) sectors shrunk as shown in Table 2. This was led by Consumer Electronics at 47.68%, from US$ 144.31 million to US$ 75.51 million, followed by Communication/Radar (22.15%), Control and Instrumentation (19.17%), Medical/Industrial Instrumentation (16.98%), Electronic Data Processing (5.49%), Semiconductor Components/Devices (4.67%), and Automotive Electronics (0.14%).

 

Telecommunication rose by 33.40%, from US$ 76.40 million to US$ 101.91 million. It was followed by Office Equipment (1.15%). 

B. PH Electronics Exports: (Year-on-Year)

The Philippine Electronics exports decreased by 4.47%, from US$ 3.85 billion in April 2024 to US$ 3.68 billion in April 2025, as shown in Fig. 2. 

 

Exports in four (4) sectors contracted, led by Consumer Electronics at 18.52%, from US$ 92.66 million to US$ 75.51 million. It was followed by Communication/Radar (13.92%), Semiconductor Components/Devices (6.86%), and Control and Instrumentation (3.65%). Kindly refer to Table 2.

 

Meanwhile, Automotive Electronics improved the most by 76.56%, from US$ 4.80 million to US$ 8.48 million. This was followed by Medical/Industrial Instrumentation (51.13%), Office Equipment (29.84%), Electronic Data Processing (3.21%), and Telecommunication (2.03%).

C.  PH Electronics Exports (Year-to-Date)

Year-to-date electronics exports declined by 0.36%, from US$ 15.23 billion in 2024 to US$ 15.17 billion in 2025, which is equivalent to 56.45% of the total Philippine exports. Please see Fig. 3.

 

Exports from two (2) sectors shrunk from last year’s YTD figures, led by Communication/Radar at 12.66%, from US$ 197.10 million to US$ 172.15 million. This was followed by Semiconductor Components/Devices (5.36%). Please see Table 3.

 

Meanwhile, Medical/Industrial Instrumentation grew by 62.07%, from US$ 125.06 million to US$ 202.68 million. It was followed by Automotive Electronics (56.42%), Office Equipment (49.10%), Consumer Electronics (26.37%), Control and Instrumentation (13.73%), Electronic Data Processing (10.44%), and Telecommunication (7.13%).

COUNTRIES OF DESTINATION (APRIL 2025)

Table 1 shows the top five (5) export destinations in April 2025, namely, Hong Kong (19.62%), the USA (13.86%), China (8.67%), Japan (6.52%), and Germany (6.14%).

The other destinations in the top ten were Singapore (6.10%), Taiwan (5.49%), Thailand (4.24%), the Netherlands (3.58%), and Malaysia (3.40%).

The top exported electronics products in April 2025 are in Fig. 4. Multi-component Integrated Circuits (MCO) bound for Hong Kong increased by 28.03%. Meanwhile, Integrated Circuits bound for Hong Kong decreased by 45.32%. See Table 4.
