PHILIPPINE ELECTRONICS EXPORT PERFORMANCE FEBRUARY 2025

 
Electronics exports increased by 4.52% in February 2025 to US$ 3.84 billion, which is 61.44% of the US$ 6.25 billion total Philippine exports.
 

 A.  PH Electronics Exports: (Month-on-Month)

Electronics exports grew by 4.52% from US$ 3.68 billion in January 2025 to US$ 3.84 billion in February 2025, as shown in Fig. 1.

 

Exports in eight (8) sectors went up as shown in Table 2. It was led by Consumer Electronics at 48.79%, from US$ 93.25 million to US$ 138.74 million, followed by Automotive Electronics (43.53%), Office Equipment (37.25%), Medical/Industrial Instrumentation (14.80%), Telecommunication (13.65%), Electronic Data Processing (12.17%), Communication/Radar (2.67%), and Semiconductor Components/Devices (0.73%).

 

Control and Instrumentation shrunk by 5.18%, from US$ 81.93 million to US$ 77.69 million. 

B. PH Electronics Exports: (Year-on-Year)

The Philippine Electronics exports improved by 3.16%, from US$ 3.72 billion in February 2024 to US$ 3.84 billion in February 2025, as shown in Fig. 2. 

 

Exports in seven (7) sectors increased, led by Medical/Industrial Instrumentation at 95.18%, from US$ 27.15 million to US$ 52.99 million. It was followed by Office Equipment (94.08%), Consumer Electronics (62.54%), Automotive Electronics (53.68%), Control and Instrumentation (18.59%), Electronic Data Processing (15.93%), and Telecommunication (13.75%). Kindly refer to Table 2.

 

Meanwhile, Communication/Radar declined the most by 8.73%, from US$ 51.47 million to US$ 46.98 million. This was followed by Semiconductor Components/Devices (4.07%).

C.  PH Electronics Exports (Year-to-Date)

Year-to-date electronics exports rose by 0.45%, from US$ 7.48 billion in 2024 to US$ 7.52 billion in 2025, which is equivalent to 59.55% of the total Philippine exports. Please see Fig. 3.

 

Exports from seven (7) sectors grew from last year’s YTD figures, led by Medical/Industrial Instrumentation at 70.28%, from US$ 58.22 million to US$ 99.14 million. This was followed by Office Equipment (58.23%), Consumer Electronics (46.55%), Automotive Electronics (46.19%), Control and Instrumentation (20.42%), Electronic Data Processing (13.41%), and Telecommunication (5.08%). Meanwhile, Communication/Radar contracted by 11.94%, from US$ 105.30 million to US$ 92.73 million. It was followed by Semiconductor Components/Devices (5.43%).

COUNTRIES OF DESTINATION (FEBRUARY 2025)

Table 1 shows the top five (5) export destinations in February 2025, namely, Hong Kong (18.91%), the USA (14.53%), China (9.15%), Japan (7.31%), and Germany (5.87%).

The other destinations in the top ten were Singapore (5.62%), Taiwan (5.33%), the Netherlands (4.72%), Thailand (3.95%), and Malaysia (2.91%).

The top exported electronics products in February 2025 are in Fig. 4. Integrated Circuits bound for Hong Kong increased by 48.23%. Meanwhile, Integrated Circuits bound for the USA decreased by 51.82%. See Table 4.
